What is that under all of this dust?

Why, it’s my blog!! Hey, I almost forgot about this thing. I should be ashamed from myself, and I am!

March was my last post… wow. So much has happened since then. Let’s see, I’ve expanded my metalsmithing skills, and had so much fun doing it! I’ve learned about fold forming, the ups and downs of soldering copper, I’ve made my own basket and prong settings, and that’s just the stuff I’ve posted online! I’ve worked on many other pieces that just aren’t very photogenic, but were essential in helping me learn new techniques. I even made my own etching contraption!

What else… Oh! I was accepted to the Etsy Metal team at the beginning of July! This is super exciting for me. This is a rad (that’s right, I just threw down the word ‘rad’) team of 100+ members, all of which are wonderful metalworkers! I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be accepted to the team. After all, I haven’t even been using traditional techniques for a full year yet! I was astonished when I was accepted, and that gave me quite the boost 🙂

I’m still going strong on the Ring a Week challenge. I think I’m a couple weeks behind, but school has been taking up so much of my time… Speaking of school, I’ll be done on November 14th!! Yay! Queue Alice Cooper. I can’t even begin to tell you how glad I’ll be when it’s over. It will be awesome to have my bachelors in accounting, but it will be even MORE awesome to not have school work anymore. By the way, I’m slacking on taking a final exam to bring you this lovely blog post 🙂

There may be some other news coming up soon. Stay tuned to find out what that might be. In the meantime, to celebrate my triumphant return to my blog (or at least temporary, because I’ll probably abandon my blog again soon… that’s how I roll), use the coupon code BLOGGY in my Etsy shop for 10% off! I’ll keep this code active until next Saturday.

Not in the mood to buy anything? That’s ok, too! Check out my latest creation: Venus. Venus is RAW 26/52 and #1 in the Etsy Metal Project Runway Challenge. The challenge was to use only things on your bench, and to use sheet metal. Everything in Venus, save for the black onyx, was already on my bench. See, being messy can really pay off!

Chat again soon! No, really!
